Springfield Newborn Photographer | Baby Brother

I’m always excited when I hear back from a family that I’ve photographed and they’re telling me that they are adding to their family! I love starting to think about their first session, how we can do things to make it the new' baby’s unique session while still riffing a little bit off of the first session, if only for one or two images. Plus, I love seeing “my” families again, and seeing “my” babies as big kids! So this was really fun. I immediately went to my old hard drives to pull up their first session and start thinking. And, that’s when I got this image to composite to. We had done a boxing glove thing for this fam’s first session, so it was gonna be necessary for this one too. Also, I don’t just make this happen - of course I made sure that they wanted it before I just popped it on them. (sometimes I do setups as a surprise for people. But I also verify. It’s not a real hard fast process, just go with it. :P)

I “LOVE” the image below for 1000 different reasons. But I love the sort of Phily-esque vibe that the LOVE letters have, reminds me of the Love Sculpture we have in the city. I also love the Rocky-reminiscent gloves. They’re definitely a whole Rocky III vibe - shorts included! And his little yawn is just the icing on the cake!

I’m probably being ridiculous but I imagine him saying something in a voice that’s similar to Marlon Brando in The Godfather when I look at the cute face he’s making below.

Stepbrothers is one of the movies that I’ve laughed until I’ve cried over, multiple times. I guarantee you that if the line that starts, “I’ve got a belly full of…” is familiar to you, you have too!
But these two aren’t stepbrothers - big brother is adorably proud, and I was lucky to photograph him when he was a newborn too. He’s so big and grown up and SO cute now… he was just darling with his baby brother, too.

Love when dads are happy to be at a session and are into it - whether oohing and aaahing over how cute the baby is or super attentive to mama, the dads that come through my door are usually the bestest. This daddy is no exception to that rule. Love how he’s looking down at his newest son.
