 As a baby photographer in Philadelphia, one of the best compliments that I can get from a client is a referral to their friends. This family was a referral from another client - it always makes me feel so honored that not only did they love their photos, they told someone else how much they loved them, and they have confidence in me that I'll also take great care of their friends. (I also offer a $50 referral credit for every session that is booked to the referring client, but I usually forget to mention it until after they've sent their friends my way!) The first photo makes me so happy. It's Mama's wedding sari. It's so beautiful, first, and second, it's so meaningful to this family. I love when I can incorporate something special into a family's newborn session. (NOTE: I ask people to text me photos of any item they're planning to bring to make sure that a) I can actually use it safely and beautifully and b) so I can get my wheels spinning for how I'm going to use it. Creativity: Trust the Process, people!) I really love how this came out. Especially the sash. Details mean everything in a photo with a tiny baby. Details. When it's a simple, lovely shot like this, making sure that all the details are perfect is important. For me, that's the fingers, the toes, the placement of the elbow close to the knee, back wrinkles, seeing both cheeks well and in this case, too, those gorgeous, long, beautiful eyelashes. Simple photos are what works for me. Love the dusty rose colored wrap in this beautiful awake photo. It's not often in a newborn session that an awake baby is a calm, willing-to-be-photographed baby. I love taking advantage of the few minutes when it happens.Tonal harmony makes me sigh in happiness. So many shades of neutral. <3A family photo. Big sister was so cute and darling. Mom specifically requested a sheers photo (the curtains behind them). I didn't have them, but added sheers as a pretty addition to my studio!
