Something that I really love about my job is getting to know people's story. I love to hear the story of what brought someone to Philadelphia, and I like to know how someone found me but always, always, how they met. Sometimes, people actually want to incorporate that as something meaningful in their newborn session. And I like the challenge of doing that, too.

Creating custom baby photography means that I can listen to what parents want, I can take specific requests, and I can figure out ways to make people's newborn photography sessions meaningful to them on a second layer, besides just their new baby and most important thing in their life!

This family was one such family. Mom and Dad met while both were working for the Dayton Dragons, which is Dayton, Ohio's minor league baseball team. Mom brought this catcher's mitt with her, and the green bow is a nod to the Dragons' color, green.

The smile was just a fortuitous bonus because there isn't much that makes me as happy at a newborn session as a baby smile! Especially in the parents' most important shot. Thanks, Baby. <3

I also noticed when I opened these files up on my computer that the baby in the mitt made a heart. That was also, again, just luck - I didn't plan it that way but boy did it make my heart sing.
