Main Line Newborn Photography | Baby #3
The little girl in the bottom picture is one of the very first babies I photographed, for free, in a prop hat I knitted myself. She is in first grade today, which kind of blows my mind that I've been at this for so long. I also kind of don't want to see those first photos because I know that I won't see how beautiful and tiny she is, but all of the things I did wrong and all of the technical flaws and be critiquing myself in my head. What's that about being our own worst critics? Naaah. Haha. That young lady also holds the distinction of being the only time I've ever left a session in different clothes than the ones I arrived in. (I used to travel to people's homes before I had my studio). She pooped on me, as newborn babies who are naked are often wont to do. But it was like, ON ME. So, I went home in a pair of gym shorts and a tee shirt that were not my own and had to be returned in the mail. This girl is the reason I keep a change of clothes in my studio today. Her younger brother was much kinder to me on his go around with being photographed - sweet and calm guy. This guy was the same. Maybe he knows that the third baby in a family has to go with the flow a little bit more, or maybe that's just him, but he was just a chill dude throughout his session. And, before I show you the beautiful photos of this guy, I'd like to reflect for a second on how very cool it is that I get to see a family grow like this. Meeting first time parents, meeting them again as second time parents, meeting the big sister now as a big girl - it's just so wonderful to chart their growth in photos and such an honor to be the one asked to do it now three times. <3 I truly feel blessed and lucky to have the best clients in the world, if not in all of Philadelphia and the Main Line.
