Philadelphia Newborn Photographer | Baby Girl #2
If you were in Philadelphia in March of 2020, the number one thing on your mind was probably Coronavirus. We had just started locking down and many of us were melting down as well. Just me? Okay then.
While I was trying to figure out what this strange new world would look like for me, for my family, and for my business, the thing that was in the back of my mind was this little lady. As my business closed its doors in the interest of safety, I kept thinking about the fact that this little lady was due to make her appearance in the world soon and I was very concerned that I would not be able to create a newborn session for her the way that I had done for her big sister. It was heavy on my heart.
Things began opening up and I took heart a little but tried not to get my hopes up. Well, wouldn’t you know it that the Philadelphia area went into green and I was able to safely conduct her newborn session a few weeks later.
As I mentioned, I created a newborn session for this young lady’s sister, too. I also did maternity photos for Mom and Dad, and later, a family session for them after Big Sister was a little bit more grown up. She stole my heart even more than she had at her newborn session, but that’s a story for another blog post. I think her parents are very, very special people, too, so I was really happy that we were going to go forward. I planned this session out in great detail: what colors I would use and what would coordinate with those for accessories, how would we do something special as a nod to what’s important to mom and dad, and how we would do the family photos to be sure Big Sister felt happy enough to cooperate.
I am happy to report that she did cooperate and those photos are lovely. I am also happy to show you the photos we got of baby sister, all coordinated and sweet.
I will say, in my world, a smile is #1, but a yawn is a very close second in terms of squealy adorability. Yes, those are words.
Just everything cute and perfect and right in the world. I love the details in the photo above. The roundness of the cheek, the perfect little fingernails, the big toe poking the stitching insistently. I am pleased that this session came to be.
