What Do I Need for a New Baby | Philadelphia

I think the question of "What do I need for a new baby" is probably one that people ponder as soon as they find out they are expecting. With SO many options and babies being such a giant industry, there is always something new that people are being sold - wipe warmers were that thing when I was having my baby years ago. And there are even more options now - buckets to float your baby in (I saw it on You Tube, people) and to Bumbo or does that make you CPS worthy? It's hard to know. But the real truth is, all you need are diapers and love. Seriously. Probably in reverse order. In photographing the babies I have over the last six point five years, it makes me smile when I think of every mama's face when I hand her back her new baby. Like a cool drink of water in the desert, having that baby back in her arms is life. I know and occasionally miss that feeling - sleeping, warm, delicious-smelling baby heavy on your chest. What better feeling in this world?Oh, and one other thing you need - great newborn photos. Because, you're so darn tired. It's so fast. All the teenyness and squish and milky breath is replaced with teeth and then with braces before you know it. Oh, I'm not gonna make either of us cry, I'm just saying. I wish I had newborn photos of my kid. I don't, and it makes me sad that I just didn't know they existed when I had my baby because, Lawdamercy that kid was beautiful.Just like every mama's kid. This one featured here is no exception. It was so much fun creating the set and the poses, colors and flow for this family - just like I do for every family.I love this pose. It's one of the ones I started adding to all of my sessions this year and it is probably one of my top three favorites now. So cute, so potatoey. <3 If I can capture a part of a smile, too, then I'm a happy newborn photographer!newborn baby photoLove this pose too - another variation that always makes me think: "precious little bundle"philadelphia newborn photographer Love this little puppy hat.
